Rope and fairlead
Galvanised steel cable is highly abrasion resistant and shrugs off dragging over rock and gravel. It stores significant energy under tension, so always lay a damper over the line during a pull and never step over a loaded cable. Wear gloves – used cable develops sharp broken strands.
Fitting
Mounting bolt pattern is 254 mm x 114.3 mm, so it fits winch plates and bumpers cut to that pattern. Feed the winch from the battery with correctly rated cable and a suitable isolator, and make sure the mounting plate is tied into the chassis rather than the bumper skin alone.
Operating advice
- Rig a snatch block for heavy or angled pulls – it roughly halves the load on the winch and the anchor
- Winch in short bursts and let the motor cool between pulls
- Keep at least five wraps of line on the drum at all times
- Never use a recovery winch to lift or suspend a load

Aluminium Hawse Fairlead 25cm – Synthetic Winch Rope
Machined aluminium hawse fairlead for winches running synthetic rope. The smooth radiused throat lets the rope feed onto the drum from any angle without chafing, and there are no rollers, bearings or pinch points to wear out or seize with mud.
- Synthetic rope only - not suitable for steel cable
- Machined aluminium with a smooth radiused throat
- No moving parts to seize or wear
Universal Winch Mounting Plate for Grizzly 8500 lbs
Steel mounting plate for Grizzly 8500 lbs winches. A winch is only as strong as what it is bolted to: the plate spreads the pulling load across the chassis rails instead of concentrating it on a bumper, which is what bends bumpers and tears out mounting bolts.
- Spreads winch load across the chassis rather than the bumper
- Drilled for the 8500 lbs Grizzly bolt pattern
- Steel construction
Complete Control Box for Grizzly Winch – 8500 / 9500 / 13000 lbs
Complete replacement control box for Grizzly electric winches, supplied with the contactors and wiring already assembled. The control box is where water and corrosion do most of their damage: when a winch runs one way but not the other, or clicks without turning, a failed contactor inside this box is the usual cause.
- Complete assembled unit - contactors, wiring and housing
- Fixes the classic "runs one way only" winch fault
- Accepts both corded and wireless remote handsets
Grizzly Winch Corded Remote Control – 8500 / 9500 / 13000 lbs
Wired remote handset for Grizzly electric winches. A corded remote has no battery to go flat and no pairing to lose, which is why most operators keep one in the vehicle as a backup even when they normally use the wireless handset.
- Plugs directly into the winch control box
- No batteries and no radio pairing required
- Reliable backup if the wireless remote fails in the field
Grizzly Winch Wireless Remote Control – 8500 / 9500 / 13000 lbs
Replacement wireless remote handset and receiver for Grizzly electric winches. Operating the winch from outside the danger zone is the single biggest safety improvement you can make to a recovery - you can stand clear of the line, watch the anchor and the drum, and stop the moment something looks wrong.
- Operates winch in and winch out without a trailing cable
- Lets the operator stand well clear of a loaded line
- Direct replacement for the original Grizzly handset
